India has registered 1,17,100 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours [2]. And 3071 total omicron cases.[3]

I hope you all know that the whole world is suffering from a pandemic known as Covid-19. But have you ever thought how the covid-19 and why is it called as a pandemic.

If you don’t know this webpage is written especially for you.

In simple when a disease infects individuals in substantial number in different continents it is known as a pandemic.

We directly cannot say that a pandemic is growing instead there are some phases of it arranged according to its number.

Phase 01 (Investigation Interval) :

A new type of virus is identified and investigated in animals or humans which is thought to have implications for human health. In India this phase was between 25 March 2020 – 14 April 2020.

Phase 2 (Recognition Interval) :

Increased cases are identified, along with an increased potential for person-to-person transmission. In India this phase was between 15 April 2020 – 3 May 2020.

Phase 3 (Initial Interval) :

Cases of the virus are confirmed with both efficient and sustained person-to-person transmission. In india this phase was between 4 May 2020 – 17 May 2020.

Phase 4 (Acceleration Interval) :

The new virus infects susceptible people. Public health officials may take measures such as closing schools, encouraging social distancing, and offering vaccines if available. In India this phase was between 18 May 2020 – 31 May 2020.

Phase 5 (Deceleration Interval) :

There is a consistently decreasing rate of cases in the United States.

Phase 6 (Preparation Interval) :

Even after the pandemic has subsided, public health officials continue to monitor the virus and brace. [3]

First Covid Case in India –

The Government of India confirmed India’s first case of COVID-19 on 30 January 2020 in the state of Kerala, when a university student from Wuhan travelled back to the state.
